Switches: Restored Alps SKCM Blue, lubed with Nyogel 760G

Plate: Aluminum, top mounted with leaf springs around all mounting points.

Spacer: Custom machined polycarbonate, painted to match keycaps and hand polished.

PCB: Hineybush CEM3 H87a, with hand wired acrylic led backlight panels

The PC Montage is an outstanding modern case for Alps builds.  With relatively thin frosted polycarbonate case walls, a heavy brass weight, and a versatile mounting system, it offers one of the best platforms for bringing out the classic sound of alps, without resorting to a large plastic vintage case. The only thing it needs for alps is the addition of a spacer between the two case halves. 

This spacer provides the extra height needed for the taller alps switches, as well as adding acoustically beneficial internal volume.  The addition of the polished paint to this part transforms a necessary but unsightly design element into one that is unique and elegant, while still allowing light from the underglow rgb to diffuse into the top half of the case.
